Service Unit Funds are the property of Girl Scouting and are to be:
- Used for purposes in keeping with the Girl Scout movement
- Maintained in a checking account in the name of Girl Scouts of Kansas Heartland Council, Girl Scout Troop/Group #
- Accounted for by tracking income and expenses, and maintaining bank statements and receipts
- Reported annually on this SU Finance Summary to Girl Scouts of Kansas Heartland by June 30
Girl Scout councils are required by Girl Scouts of the U.S.A. and the Internal Revenue Service to make sure that proper records of troop/group funds are maintained and kept on file at the Girl Scout council.
Failure to comply is of serious concern.
