Saturday, April 24th, 2010, Daisy Troop 20945 had their Daisy Day in the Park with an Earth Day theme. The girls made a spring-time necklace, picked up trash around Sunset Park, and brought plastic items to recycle. The girls also planted a Sempervivum plant, most commonly known as "hen and chicks", that they took home with them to care for.

In addition to all of the fun activities and playing at the park, Rachel Dix, a Girl Scout mom and teacher who earned her camp name "Mother Earth" on Saturday is an Earth Day resource person for Oakdale Elementary. She discussed recycling and reusing with the girls.
Nine girls from Troop 20945 attended as well as 3 guest Girl Scouts from Daisy Troop 20962. Sunset Park was the perfect spot to enjoy a sun-filled day learning about how to make our world a better place by loving the Earth and environment around us.
