POSITION SUMMARY
The Starwoods Program Manager and Camp Director is responsible for assisting with the development and implementation of Girl Scout program resources that address the needs and interests of Girl Scout members and attract nonmembers to the organization. The Manager will work with staff and volunteers to ensure the programming is diversified, contemporary, and relevant to the needs and interests of all girls throughout the Council.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES
Works with volunteers and staff to plan, coordinate and deliver innovative Girl Scout programs which includes camp, events and workshops.
Accesses and analyzes the needs of the girls and keeps current with trends and issues affecting girls of all ages. Works with Volunteer Services and Membership Services team to ensure adequate and appropriate volunteers for program delivery.
Ensures compliance with GSUSA and Council safety standards, the American Camping Association, local and state regulations; includes food and health services, crisis management and property. Adheres to national and local Girl Scout policies, standards and procedures.
Maintains the necessary records and reports of projects, events and activities for regular analysis and evaluation.
Work in tandem with the Membership Services team on the strategies for recruitment and retention of all age levels of girls and the inclusion of under-served populations.
Recruits, hires and manages staff for summer program delivery. Responsible for training and development of paid staff.
Markets Starwood Outdoor Center at Girl Scout events and prepares program descriptions for publications. Creates and cultivates Community Partnerships.
Develops and maintains budget for Starwoods Outdoors Center programs and summer staff.
Network with other Girl Scout Councils and youth organizations to gain program ideas and helpful resources, and to learn about successful delivery techniques.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelors degree in Outdoor Recreation, Teaching or equivalent, relevant experience will be considered
· Knowledge and experience in program development and outcomes measurement
· Ability to plan and implement informal education activities for youth
· High level of energy and enthusiasm
· Willingness to work flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
· Ability to stay at the camp during overnight Council program events (not including troop camping); summer camp will include several nights per week, several weeks per month
· Outstanding presentation skills to a variety of audiences
· Strong verbal and written communication skills
· Supervisory experience of full and part-time staff and volunteers
· Proven ability to work with others in a team environment
· Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
· Physically able to stand, sit, and walk long distances in both indoor and outdoor weather conditions
· Ability to travel
· High level of creativity
