Programs and Activities

Acrobatic Academy- Girls will develop their gymnastics, dancing and cheerleading skills. Experienced coaches and staff will lead the group in their programs. (Daisies, Brownies, Juniors) Find out more.

American Red Cross Baby-Sitting Basics- Participants will receive a Baby-sitting Basics workbook and learn to care for children safely. Learn basic first aid skills, including breathing rescue for children and infants who are choking or in respiratory distress. (Cadettes, Seniors) Find out more.

Aquatic Skills- This program gives Girl Scouts the opportunity to work towards their age level swimming badge. Troops or groups can call the Wichita Swim Club to make their reservations. (All age levels) Find out more.

Bowling- These local bowling alleys will gladly help Girl Scouts earn their age level bowling badge. Please call them directly to set up your dates and times. (All age levels) Find out more.

Build-A-Bear Workshop- Girls design and build their own special bear to take home. Girls will get to pick out their bear's clothing and accessories; a birth certificate comes with each bear. (All age levels) Find out more.

Butler County Historical Society and Kansas Oil Museum- Our historical programs give Girl Scouts of all ages the chance to complete requirements for a variety of badges as they participate in the museum tours and activities. (All age levels) Find out more.


Chaplin Nature Center- Programs are for girls and adults who love the great out-of-doors. Programs such as eagle watching, night hikes and a spring clean up will be offered. (All age levels) Find out more.

Clay Art Studio- Girls will try their hands at ceramics in a one-time or series of classes, depending on interest and time available. (Girl Scout Junior thru Ambassador) Find out more.

Dream Dinners- Dream Dinners helps girls plan and prepare a gourmet meal to take home and serve to their families. Girls plan and learn cooking skills; Dream Dinners will do the shopping and preparation. (Girl Scout Junior thru Ambassador) Find out more.

Eagle Valley Raptor Center- Experience the thrill of seeing Golden or American eagles, owls and turkey vultures up close. Tours take about an hour and include seeing birds of prey, finding out how eagles make their nest and how big birds hunt. Girls will also learn how the staff cares for injured birds. Creative Fun with Evans Ceramic Supply- Let your troop explore their creative side. Evans Ceramics provides all supplies needed for painting bisque ware. (All age levels) Find out more.

Exploration Place- Explore the traveling and hands on exhibits! Girls can work on their age level badges while they visit Exploration Place. (All age levels) Find out more.

Kansas Learning Center for Health- This is a great place to learn about good health and healthy habits while having fun. The Kansas Learning Center for Health offers all age appropriate health classes, and uses professional staff to teach them. (All age levels) Find out more.

Kohl's Cares for Kids Scholarship Progam- Each year, Kohl's rewards kids ages 6-18 for their good deeds through the Kohl's Kids Who Care Scholarship Program.  $2.2 million in scholarships and prizes have been given to date.  Scholarship nominations will be accepted February 1 through  March 15, 2010.  Click here for more information.


Limited Too- Many girls are interested in fashion and shopping. Visit a Limited Too retail clothing store to learn about design, fashion, how and where clothes are made, how a retail store operates and what it takes to work in the clothing industry. Maxwell Wildlife Refuge- The refuge specializes in entertaining Girl Scout troops with an early-day Kansas prairie experience. The program will be led by Eco-Tour on the Prairie staff. (All age levels) Find out more.

Monart School of Art- Monart offers all age levels of Girl Scouts the resources to use towards badges. They provide high quality supplies, materials, certified teachers and fun themes. They will design workshops to fit a troops needs. (All age levels) Find out more.

MOSEY Outdoor Adventure- MOSEY Outdoor Adventure Society will provide challenging adventures where girls can earn parts of the Adventure sports badge. Girls will begin practicing physical activities that involve low or high elements. (All age levels) Find out more.

National Park Service- The Resource Stewardship Girl Scout Ranger (Girl Scout Ranger) program engages Girl Scouts in educational, volunteer service, or action projects in national parks. Find out more.

Old Cowtown Museum
- Kansas History at its best, visit Old Cowtown and learn about Wichita in 1870's. (All age levels) Find out more.

Porcelain Dolls 'N More- Girl Scouts will enjoy making and painting dolls and other porcelain items and get a keepsake for themselves or someone special. (All age levels) Find out more.

Pro Kansas Miller Recycling Center- Go Green! A visit with Pro Kansas Miller Recycling Center fulfills several requirements for environmental badges. Girls learn what glass jars, pop bottles, and newspaper are recycled into, watch a horizontal baler carry material up to a 12 foot belt and walk among the towers of compacted paper and plastics. Roller Skating- Local roller skating rinks will gladly help girls earn their skating badge. (All age levels) Find out more.

Sedgwick County Zoo- Visit the animals, work on some badges, and enjoy the outdoors all at one place, the zoo! (All age levels) Find out more.

Singletree Stables- Girls can get up close and personal with horses and learn basic riding skills or improve on skills they already have. Qualified instructors provide the horses and teach proper care and knowledge about horses and riding. (Girl Scout Juniors thru Ambassadors) Find out more.

Switched on Saturdays- Discover science in a whole new way. At Switched on Saturdays, facilitators from the WSU College of Engineering will help girls explore science and physics though building roller coasters, robots, bridges, airplanes and more! The Water Center-Gilbert and Mosley Project- This nationally recognized project is one of the most innovative solutions to the complex environmental problem of contaminated groundwater. Girl Scouts will visit Herman Hill Park and see how 1.2 million gallons of groundwater are treated daily. (All age levels) Find out more.


Wichita Animal Hospital at Auburn Hills- Doctor Girl Scout on call. Girls can work on or earn their "Pet" age level badge by attending a workshop at the animal hospital at Auburn Hills during the months of January and February. (All age levels) Find out more.

Wichita Art Museum- Take a self-guided tour through Wichita Art Museum's galleries or visit the new "interactive spot." (All age levels) Find out more.

Wichita Ice Center- The "coolest" spot in town! Troops can just have fun or take a class and earn the Brownie or Junior skating badge. (All age levels) Find out more.

Yoga Kids- Earn the Yoga fun patch, either with one meeting or in on-going classes. The girls can have fun learning how to relax. They will fulfill or do parts of all age level stress badges. (All age levels) Find out more.
