Membership Dues
Girls and adults involved in Girl Scouts pay annual membership dues
of $15. The dues for membership are paid to the Girl Scouts of the USA
for programdevelopment and activity insurance. No portion of the $15
stays with Girl Scouts of Kansas Heartland. Membership dues and the
registration forms are submitted online or to volunteers in charge of
troop registrations, other group volunteers, or directly to the council.
ProgramFees
Fees vary depending on the programopportunity and the supplies
needed. Girl costs are kept as affordable as possible, and typically
reflect only a portion of the actual cost to participate. The true cost of
programs would include salaries and other indirect costs such as the
offices, support staff salaries, and insurance. These indirect costs are
supplemented by grants, contributions and the council-sponsored
product sales. Girl members can also use credits earned through
the product sales to help pay for
activities.
Uniforms and Books
Uniforms are not required to
participate in Girl Scouts, but
we do recommend girls have a
sash or a vest in order to display
their pins, awards, badges, and
patches. Journeys and grade
level guides provide detailed
information on the program,
awards and activities.
