All Aboard For Women In Railroading
Watco Transportation took more than 130 Girl Scouts, their families,
railroad fans, and staff for a short journey to west Wichita on May 16 in
passenger train cars. Attendees did a scavenger hunt, learned about
careers in railroading, and enjoyed a hobo-style box
dinner. Operation Lifesaver was also on-board to
educate passengers about train safety.
Female staff members of Watco Transportation
believe in sharing themany facets of railroading
such as how it supports commerce, careers in
the industry, as well as supporting our nation’s
transportation. All are important lessons for the
next generation of girls.
