EVENmean?
In this case, it means girls spending time with other girls their own age, having
fun andmeeting new friends this summer. Girls can spend time checking out
new surroundings and enjoying activities in a safe environment. This Summer
Activity Guide is packed full of exciting experiences for girls to take part in during
the summer break. There is everything fromone-day events to five-day camp
experiences included in the options.
The activities are listed by the week to help you plan your summer and include
the appropriate age levels. All of the activities are brought to you by Girl Scouts
of Kansas Heartland in cooperation withmany community partners. You’ll
see throughout the Guide, the various logos of some of themost sought after
businesses that provide today’s youth with opportunities to learn, explore and
have fun.
Registration for activities included in this guide will begin on April 15.

That’s okay, we’ll work with you to get your girl signed up for the activity as
well as Girl Scouts so she can take part in the summer activity. Today’s Girl
Scouts can participate inmany ways. The camp option lets girls join in on
these activities and experience Girl Scouting froma new perspective. Girl
Scout membership is required and is $12 for 2013. New girls can register for
membership online at
Kansasgirlscouts.org
or by calling their local Girl Scout
office at the numbers provided below. Once a member, the staff will assist you in signing
up for the activity. Current Girl Scouts should register on Ultra Camp beginning April 15.
