I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream!
When the hot summer sun sets we will become
stargazers. Cast Iron, pie irons, solar and foil dinners
are just a few of the cooking skills you will use. Come
spend some time at camp, make new friends, and
wonder at a twinkling sky by night. Cook up crazy
concoctions around a campfire and laughmore than
you ever thought possible.

Explore the Unexpected in Art!
Salina Art Center – Salina, KS
July 15 • 1pm–2:30pm
Age Group:
4th-12th grade
You will begin your drawing or scribe badges by
exploring the sculptures and video animations of
artist Sharon Louden. Tour the exhibition, discuss the
artist’s use of unusual materials, and create a drawing,
poem, or story based on the exhibition!

1870’s Right Tools for the
Tasks & Working with Wood
The Basics–Session 2
Old Cowtown Museum–Wichita, KS

In themorning, girls will learn that people in the
1870s worked hard, but also took advantage of
tools andmachines that made their work easier. In
the afternoon, girls will learn that before plastics
and compositematerials were invented, themost
common resource was wood. Many projects can be
undertaken once the girls know the basic procedures.
We will explore some of the “rules” that make a good
project possible and Girl Scouts will take home a
project of their own.
*You will need to bring a sack lunch.

Camp Kanza summer camp is FUN! Learn about
naturemake a craft to take home, ride a bicycle, and
swim in the pool. Kanza also has a lake for fishing and
boating. Bring a tent and enjoy the great outdoors. All
meals served in the air-conditioned Dining Hall. This is
