This course provides you with the skills needed to successfully perform first-aid and CPR. At the conclusion of this course you will be CPR/1st Aid Certified by the National Safety Council. This course includes a home-study portion, and then skills and written testing with a certified instructor. Once you have registered you will receive or can pick up the materials for the home study. Participants must be physically able to perform the basic skills required for CPR.

This combined overnight course prepares the volunteer for semi primitive camping outside your community, as well as backyard campouts, day camps, and camping adventures within your own community or at any Girl Scouts of Kansas Heartland Camp property. You will experience the demonstration of outdoor cooking methods and fire building as well as the procedure for pitching, striking, and caring for tents. Also additional outdoor skills and activities that can be added to the girl program and included in this workshop.

Would you like to go canoeing with girls in your troop? With small craft safety-canoe you will be able to offer a safe canoeing experience for all participants. Learn the basics in water rescue, rules for maneuvering canoes on lakes and small bodies of water and basic strokes to make the experience even better.
