Come celebrate Earth Day at Camp Double E with games, crafts and songs. Lunch and snacks provided. This event is designed so you could utilize this day as a babysitting alternative. Wichita State University Baseball – Community Night @ Eck Stadium

Girl Scouts are invited to Community Night at the Wichita State University baseball game! Watch as the Shockers take on the Southern Illinois Salukis. Girl Scouts of Kansas Heartland will be recognized on the video board at Eck Stadium during the game, and there will be a team autograph session after the game. 1st Annual Ark City Powder Puff Derby @ United Methodist Church

Girls will design, construct and race a Pinewood Derby car! Then, they will race among peers in their Scout level. The winners will face off to see who becomes the Grand Champion!

Outdoor Leadership 101/201 @ Starwoods Outdoor Learning Center, Spring Creek Inn

This combined overnight course prepares the volunteer for semi-primitive camping outside your community or at any Girl Scouts of Kansas Heartland camp property. You will experience the demonstration of outdoor cooking methods and fire building as well as the procedures for pitching, striking and caring for tents. Additional outdoor skills and activities that can be added to girl program are included in this workshop. Prerequisites – Outdoor Leadership 100 – Home Study. Register by 4/19/14

Aluminum Can Drive – Reno County @ Midwest Iron and Metal

Hutchinson troops are coordinating the Great American Can Roundup in conjunction with Earth Day. The public is encouraged to bring aluminum cans to Midwest Iron and Metal, 700 S. Main St. in Hutchinson on Saturday, April 26 between 8:00 a.m. and noon. What a great fundraiser for troops, and it’s great for the Earth!

Each Girl Scout who participates will receive a patch. Girls may participate with troops or as individuals.

Canceled-College 101-Andover Campus @ The Grizzly Den

Is college for me? How is college different than high school? Am I ready for college? Come have breakfast with Dr Karla Fisher, Vice President of Academics at Butler Community College (BCC) for answers to these questions and more. A campus tour and information about BCC programs will be provided. One attendee will receive a 15-hour scholarship (valued at approximately $1,250.00) to Butler Community College. Attendees must write a one-page letter describing how the scholarship would further their academic goals to be eligible for the scholarship. Breakfast included.

Brownie Clubhouse Adventure @ Grant County 4-H Building

Join us as we explore, link arms and fly into action. We will travel two trails during our adventure. Explore teamwork and personal skills while we help our families and communities. Come join us, earn your Brownie Quest Journey patch, and participate in a Take Action project to complete our Journey. Patch and lunch are included in price. There will be an additional $7 charge if a Brownie Quest Journey book is needed.

Girl Scouts and Airplanes Overnighter @ Kansas Aviation Museum

You won’t want to miss this exciting overnighter at the museum! Visit the Historic Control Tower, sit in the cockpit of a 727 airliner, see historic airplanes being restored, watch a late-night movie, and experience a visit from a female airline pilot. Dinner and a Continental breakfast are included. Please, no tag-a-longs. Age Level Girl-to-Adult ratio must be met.

Put on your fancy attire — girls in party dresses and guys in neck ties — and your dancing shoes! Come shine like stars and celebrate your special bond. Enjoy posing for a professional portrait, participating in a dance contest, and sharing cool refreshments and a tasty dinner! Guys must be 18 or older, such as a dad, granddad, uncle or friend.

Come learn some new outdoor camping skills such as knife safety, knot tying, tent pitching, cooking, archery and compass. Have fun finding your activity supplies using your compass as geocaching, earn badges and three fun patches. The fee covers a lunch, a snack, the badges and patches.

Everything you wanted to know about the American Flag! We’ll have Swaps on Saturday and a pot luck dinner on Sunday night. There will be a campfire Friday night with singing and popcorn; Saturday night’s campfire will feature S’mores. A campfire flag-retirement ceremony will be conducted during this event. Not a Girl Scout? Add $15 to the event fee! Snacks provided Friday night, Saturday night, followed by a pot luck dinner Sunday. Girl to Adult Ratio must be met.

Spaceflight Explorer Camp-in @ Exploration Place
May 2 @ 6:00 pm – May 3 @ 10:00 am

Become a future space explorer, duplicate science experiments being done on Mars and explore the reaches of human space flight during this NASA-based camp-in. Then, camp out among the great architectural wonders of the world! Bring your overnight gear, water bottle and great attitude. Air mattresses, eye masks and cots are welcome. Snack and light breakfast provided. Please, no tag-a-longs. Age Level Girl-to-Adult ratio must be met. Dads are welcome to attend.
