Grab your flashlights and get ready to spend the night 650 feet below Hutchinson in an active rock salt mine! At this overnight you will learn about the salt mining process, view retired mining equipment, visit the geology exhibit and see costumes from Hollywood. Then you’ll take a dark 1.5 mile hike by flashlight where you will see items left behind by the miners and collect a souvenir salt rock. You’ll conclude the evening by making your own craft item from salt. No meal provided. It is recommended that you eat dinner prior to arrival at this event, and that you bring non-perishable snacks and bottled water if desired.
