Join us for our Annual Northwest Kansas Leadership Conference. The fun starts *Friday evening with a meal out and exclusive shopping. Then a day of Girl Scout learning. Registration is from 8 to 8:30 a.m. Courses will cover topics from teamwork to STEM even time management. You will choose 3 of the 4 AM Classes and attend both afternoon sessions.
COURSE DESCRIPTIONS
AM Class 1
>Who Controls Your Schedule? Being Your Own Personal Assistant
This interactive workshop focuses on time management, specifically how to create and maintain a schedule that fits your personal needs and obligations. Have a schedule already but struggle to keep up? Unsure how to balance your work and the rest of your life? Many of us struggle with the balance between work, life and self- this workshop will help you find solace with others and gain tools for improvement.
AM Class 2
>Planning your First Girl Scout Year
Journeys, Girls Guide to Girl Scouting, registrations forms, product sales….lost in the hustle and bustle of your first year in Girl Scouts? Don’t know where to begin or what to do? This course will help you develop a plan for success.
AM Class 3
>Forging Success as a Girl Scout Team
In this hands-on course, participants will learn about the four steps that groups experience when working together. Whether working with a group of girls, fellow volunteers, or family, this course will explore how you can assist in moving a group from gathering and chaos to unity and performance.
AM Class 4
>Planning an Event, Series, or Camp Including the Journeys and Girls Guide to Girl Scouting
Looking for ways to share Girl Scouts outside the traditional troop meeting? This workshop will give you the skills and knowledge to plan it! Learn the ways that you can utilize the Girls Guide to Girl Scouting and the Journeys to design a successful event, series, or camp!
PM Session 1
>Leadership Panel Discussion
Looking for some new ideas? Come prepared with questions for Girl Scout volunteers just like you. Hear their stories of success and take the opportunity to share in the knowledge and experience they have in Girl Scouts.
PM Session 2
>STEM Stations
Girls push boundaries, test limits, and look at the world around them with inquisitive eyes. They’re natural scientists! Girl Scouts introduces girls of every age to science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) experiences relevant to everyday life. Whether they’re discovering how a car’s engine runs, how to manage finances, or exploring careers in STEM fields, girls are fast-forwarding into the future. During this session, visit stations to learn more about ways you can encourage STEM related activities with girls.
