Girl Scouts take safety seriously. In an effort to assure you of your daughter’s safety and well-being, we want to take a moment to explain how we hire and choose our paid seasonal staff.
Girl Scouts of Kansas Heartland hires adult seasonal staff to fill specific job responsibilities (camp directors, waterfront, program activities, unit counselors, etc.)for the delivery of summer program. Only adults ages 18 or older are responsible for the supervision of participants. All seasonal staff must complete a written application with three character/skill references.
All references are checked, a personal interview with the site director is conducted and the applicant undergoes a Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI) and Department of Motor Vehicles background check. In addition, supervisors regularly monitor the performance of seasonal staff members.
