Summer camps, activities increase for Girl Scouts

As the excitement for summer camp continues to build, the Girl Scouts of Kansas Heartland is pleased to offer twice as many activities as last year!

The 2014 Summer Guide is packed with camps and activities that are sure to spark the interest of every girl. There are age-specific camps, day camps, week-long camps and even camps for the whole family.

The increase in camp options is just one of the many reasons to plan your summer adventure with the Girl Scouts of Kansas Heartland, which serves 80 counties in Kansas. Summer camp helps girls develop leadership skills, a strong sense of self, positive values, team-building skills … and don’t forget the lifelong friendships!

Here are just a few examples of our upcoming summer camps and activities across the state:

* Girl Power Day Camp at Camp Starwoods near Clearwater
* Dog Days of Summer at Camp Flying T in Syracuse
* Horse Tales at Blue Skies Miniature Horse Farm in Hays
* Family Outdoor Adventure Night at Lakewood Discovery Center in Salina
* Mystery at Midnight – Forensic Science Overnight in Emporia

Registered Girl Scouts can sign up for summer camp today through Ultracamp. Not a registered Girl Scout? Don’t worry; just contact your regional Girl Scout office to sign up.
