Wichita Girl Scouts Donated and Plant 93 Trees for City Parks & Recreation

The Wichita Northwest Service Unit donated and planted 93 Maple trees to the City of Wichita Parks and Recreation Department. On March 30, 2013, the trees were planted at Buffalo and Brownthrush Parks in West Wichita. The City marked planting locations while volunteers and girls planted the trees. The City will maintain the trees as they grow.

The park locations were picked by the City of Wichita in accordance with their need due to tree die off from the drought. These Girl Scouts hope the trees will flourish and provide much needed shade and scenery for these parks as they grow.
