Congratulations to the 5th grade St. Thomas Aquinas Girl Scout Troop #40174 for completing their Bronze Award, the highest level for a Junior Girl Scout and the third highest of all Girl Scouts!
Girl Scouts, Emily Schoeppner, Savanna Sparrow, Lexi Pfeifer, Ashley Moss, Isabella Perez, Sabine Schaefer, Neva Sanders, Audra Grabendike and Joanie Korroch, began this journey on February 16, 2013, when they helped set a Guinness World Record for packaging 479,034 meals in just 32 minutes for Haiti.
Next, on March 9, 2013, Father Daniel joined them for a lovely breakfast and great conversation. Throughout the day, they continued to cook “made from scratch” meals and desserts for the firemen and policemen that service our community in addition to fixing lunch for themselves.
They ended their 20 hour service project on Girl Scout Sunday, March 10th, as they read for Mass and served Hospitality to all parishioners in the Assembly Room following the 9 a.m. Mass.
