2013 Cookie Colleges

cookie college patchIt’s your business – run it!

This annual program is designed for Juniors and Cadettes to learn what it takes to be successful in business. They learn from local professionals through a series of mini-workshops in this one-day event.

in 2014, Cookie Colleges took place at Wichita, Hays and Emporia. See photos below of each event.

Girls at the Emporia Cookie College sat down with professionals from Verizon Wireless, ESB Financial and Emporia Mainstreet. Each speaker spoke on how the 5 Key Skills from the Cookie Program relate to real-life careers. This program was such a success that next year we will DOUBLE the amount of available spaces!

The girls loved the program, especially the freebies they received from the speakers!

Wichita had a super successful Cookie College this past Saturday.  Twenty-five Girl Scouts visited The Kansas Food Bank, The Donut Whole and The American Red Cross. They learned all about how the businesses were ran, what made them successful and how they could apply those business skills to their own Cookie Sale.  The girls also got a full tour of each facility.

The girls all filled out a feedback form and it was unanimous that the event was a blast and of course their favorite part was visiting The Donut Whole and receiving a free donut of their choice.
